Global Wheel-Lok is the simplest and most effective solution to prevent early departures and trailer shift accidents at the loading dock. It offers the most versatile solution to companies that handle different types of trailers, such as those with lifting platforms, lowering floors or low-slung bumpers.
Since its launch in 1997, Global Wheel-Lok has been improving, proving its reliability by installing more than 20,000 units worldwide.
Easily accessible lubrication points and a simple electromagnetic control system with few moving parts ensure maximum reliability. Works in all weather conditions.
Safely maintains control of almost all types of trailers. The very strong locking arm adjusts to different tire sizes to keep the system working reliably. No external power supply is required for placement.
The wheel guides correctly direct the trailer, thus better protecting the buildings and ensuring correct loading.
Communication system with indoor/outdoor LED lights (red and green traffic lights), audible alarms and warning signs.
Wheel-Lok vehicle interlock devices can physically improve security at a facility when coupled with an active building security system. If a GWL interlock device is tampered with, a signal is sent to the security system and a "corporate" protocol can be activated.
Easily combine with our wide range of gates, bridges, safety barriers and other security products to provide full reliable protection for employees at the loading dock.
Global Wheel-Lok™ is a self-propelled surface restraint system that secures almost any type of trailer at the loading dock. It connects the driver's side rear tire to the integrated 510mm high locking arm. For smaller vehicles or vehicles with smaller tyre diameters, a version with a lowered locking arm (375mm high) is available.
As the semi-trailer approaches the loading dock, it drives between two wheel jacks. The trailer (truck) is then driven onto the lowering device (carrier), which moves towards the building thanks to the energy of the trailer (truck). This movement measures the diameter of the semi-trailer wheel, adjusts the distance and then raises the attachment arm (locking bar) to the active position. When the loading dock is complete, the operator inside the building presses the lock button on the control unit and the blocker locks. A green light inside and a red light outside will illuminate, indicating that the trailer is blocked. To release the trailer, the operator presses the unlock button. Once unlocked, the light signals change to indicate that the semitrailer can move away from the loading dock. The working range (distance of the wheel from the dock) is 1140 - 4600 mm from the bumpers. version with lowered locking arm (375 mm high) available.
The GWL-2300 vehicle locking device is constructed of structural and formed steel. All structural components are galvanized or rust resistant painted. The drive is in the form of a hydraulic cylinder driven by a 230 V hydraulic unit. The wheel guides are made of steel and galvanized. " The structural strength of the Global Wheel-Lok can withstand tensile forces up to 142 kN. unlock button. Once unlocked, the light signals change to indicate that the trailer can move away from the loading dock. The working range (wheel to dock distance) is 1140 - 4600 mm from the bumpers. a version with a lowered locking arm (375 mm high) is available.
The system is mounted on a concrete base - see drawing. The frame and wheel hangers are fixed with custom concrete anchors.
All controls for the operator are in a control locking box with IP55 grade protection. The power supply is single phase, 230 V, 50 Hz.
Automatic tyre measurement: tyre sizes from 700 - 1200 mm diameter for maximum blocking.
Crossing plate (accessory): reduces trailer tilt when crossing the attachment arm.
Aluminum crossing bridge for smaller vehicles (optional): allows smaller vehicles (up to 3.5 t) to switch the switching device without activating the attachment arm.
Apron protection ramp (accessory): protects aprons from being caught between the wheel and the attachment arm.
Manual release: to unlock the system in case of power failure.
